Artist Studio, Baroda

Set in an upcoming, quiet neighbourhood in Baroda, the studio is envisioned as a large canvas with minimal interventions. The design orbits around a single, solid box that anchors the entire space. This box houses the storage and is engulfed by a double height studio space. Large openings allow natural light to come in from above and along the periphery.
A compact service core runs along one side, efficiently organizing utilities without interrupting the openness of the main space. The staircase is cast in place between towering bookshelves—an ascending spine of knowledge capable of holding hundreds of books. As one moves upward, the stair becomes more than circulation: it transforms into a vertical library, a place for pause and inspiration within the working studio.
